In a 2019 report, researchers found that 48% of Americans aged 20 and older suffer from cardiovascular disease. That’s 121 million Americans. This represents a significant increase over time. Cardiovascular disease is still the number one cause of death in the United States. What can be done to change that?

How to Lower Heart Disease Risk

You can protect your heart by following a plant-based diet with a meal plan that emphasizes fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. Pursuing regular physical activity also helps. Keep an eye on your blood pressure, glucose, and cholesterol numbers, and your specific optimal targets.

In honor of Heart Health Month, the Holistic Healing Heart Center created a month’s worth of health advice. Try one of these tips each day for a month. You can carry your favorites forward into your regular routine.
